This Is Followed By Three Other Titles, Namely Crows And Owls, How The Jackal Ate The Elephant, And The Brahmin And The Goat. The Final Title In The Collection Is The Dullard And Other Stories. The Stories That Are Narrated In This Book Provide Advice On The Right Way Of Life And Morality, Which Is A Common Characteristic Of Panchatantra Tales. The Characters In These Tales Are Also Anthropomorphic In Nature, I.E. They Are Animal Characters With Human Attributes.
About the Author
Anant Pai or Uncle Pai, as he is popularly known as, was born on 17th September 1929, in Karkala, Karnataka. He is the founder of the popular comic series Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle. He propagated the tales of Indian mythology and folk among the children through comic books. Some of his other works include Ramu and Shamu, Little Raji, Funland and Rekha. He has been awarded several prestigious awards in his lifetime. He died on 24th February 2011.
