It has been felt that most of the students do not take interest in learning mathematics and feel that it is a difficult subject. The subject in schools is being taught and learnt in an unrealistic and mechanical manner. The way it is being taught does not help the students to acquire and master basic essential skills of the subject. In this sense, it has been attempted to present some of the topics in mathematics through activity methods. All efforts have been made to ensure that the materials suggested to perform the activities are easily available. The teachers with their experience will be able to design more such activities and develop a mathematical laboratory.
