Arihant Pathfinder CDS Combined Defence Services Entrance Examination

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination twice in the month of February and September for recruiting officers into various Technical and Non-Technical grades of the forces. This book has been designed for the CDS examination conducted by UPSC. The present book for CDS Examinations has been divided into three sections namely Mathematics, English and General Studies, each sub-divided into number of chapters as per the syllabi of the entrance examination.

The Mathematics section has been divided into 28 chapters namely Number System, Time & Distance, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Logarithm, Rational Expressions, Linear Equations, Set Theory, Height & Distance, Triangles, Circle, Locus, Statistics, etc whereas the English section has been divided into nine chapters namely Spotting the Errors, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks & Close Test, Sentence Improvement and Ordering of Words/ Sentences. The General Awareness section has been divided into Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Indian Polity, Economy and General Knowledge, each sub-divided into number of chapters. Each chapter in the book contains ample number of solved problems which have been designed on the lines of questions asked in the previous years’ CDS Entrance Examination. Also practice exercises have been provided at the end of each chapter to help aspirants practice the concepts covered in the chapters.
