Arya Learning by Doing Environmental Studies for Class 5

The series 'Learning by Doing Environmental Studies' is based on the new syllabus recommended by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2005. The guiding principles of the series are (i) Connecting knowledge to life outside school, (ii) Ensuring that learning is shifted away from rote methods, (iii) Aiming at overall development of children rather than remain textbook centric, and (iv) Making examinations more flexible and integrated with classroom life. The themes have been divided into units which can be further divided into sub-units as per convenience of the teacher. The written text has been kept to the minimum and presented in simple and easy to understand language. The subject matter has been integrated drawing insights from Sciences, Social Sciences and Environmental Education as stipulated in the NCF-2005. The books do not give stereotype homework but suggest meaningful use of time available to the children involving parents to provide holistic education to their child.
