The course contents of the book entitled, 'Engineering Mechanics' have been planned in such a way that the book covers the complete course of first year students of all disciplines of Rajasthan Technical University, Rajasthan, Kota.
The book contains following five units :
Unit I    : Laws of Mechanics, Force Systems, Support Reactions and Truss.
Unit II   : Friction, Belt Friction and Principle of Virtual Work.
Unit III  : Centre of Gravity, Moment of Inertia, Lifting Machines and Transmission of Power.
Unit IV  : Kinematics of Particles, Dynamics of Particle and Rigid Bodies.
Unit V   : Work and Energy, Impulse and Momentum and Vibrations.
    he students face difficulty in understanding clearly the basic principles, fundamental concepts and theory without adequate solved problems along with the text. To meet this very basic requirement of the students, a large number of the questions taken from different universities have been solved along with the text in S.I. units at proper places.
    he book has been written in a simple and easy-to-follow language, so that even an average student can grasp the subject by self-study. At the end of each chapter highlights, theoretical questions and many unsolved numerical problems with answers have been given for the students to solve them.
