There are two players in the game. Each player chooses a set of 15 player cards, either red or yellow to represent his team of raiders or defenders. On each players card there is also a raid score and a defence score. The higher the raid score, the stranger is the raider and similarly the higher the defence score, the stranger is the defender during game play. The raiding team chants "Kabaddi", rolls the dice and moves his pawn the numbers of spaces or rolled on the dice in the opponents area from the middle zone.

The defending team also then moves their pawns the same number of spaces in a bid to capture the raider.

Compare the scores on the raiders and the defenders card to determine one of 3 possible outcomes : A successful raid, an unsuccessful raid or an empty raid.
