This book gives a comprehensive account of Plant Molecular Biotechnology to serve a good hand book for the students of biotechnology course at various Indian Universities. As such the subject matter of this book has been conceived and presented with a broad aim to reach out to the students of M.Sc., and B.Tech. courses in biotechnology and also in essence to reach out to the faculties teaching plant biotechnology. The book contains twenty six chapters covered under three parts. Part A emphasizes on the overview of plant molecular biology in the areas like plant genome organization, plant promoters, plant gene expression, signal transduction and plant organellar genome organization as an indispensable basic tool to understand the concepts in plant biotechnology. Part B covers important aspects of plant tissue culture viz., micropropagation, somaclonal variation, haploids and somatic hybrid production and strategies for plant secondary metabolite production.
